Job Description

Overview

  • Provide specialized care as a Sleep Technician in a sleep disorders center.
  • Perform overnight studies to diagnose and treat sleep-related conditions.
  • Work on a 3-month contract basis, covering 2-3 shifts per week.
  • Apply technical expertise in polysomnography and CPAP/BiPAP titration.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Monitor patients during sleep studies and generate detailed reports.
  • Utilize advanced equipment and techniques to ensure accurate diagnostics.
  • Contribute to a patient-focused environment emphasizing quality care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct polysomnographic studies, including CPAP/BiPAP titration procedures.
  • Set up and calibrate monitoring equipment for patient diagnostics.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors to patients for accurate data collection.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies during studies.
  • Score sleep studies and prepare detailed reports for physician review.
  • Ensure compliance with AASM standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Current RPSGT, RST, or CPSGT certification strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification required; 1+ years of experience in a sleep lab setting.
  • Proficiency in polysomnography and CPAP/BiPAP titration techniques.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and maintain patient-focused care.
  • Strong knowledge of AASM standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for reporting findings.
  • Technical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting diagnostic equipment.
