Job Description
Overview
- Lead enterprise-wide procurement and inventory management processes to ensure cost-effectiveness, standardization, and timely delivery of services.
- Focus on vendor supply and purchasing, ensuring efficient operations in a healthcare setting.
- Collaborate with administrators, managers, and physicians to meet organizational objectives.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for procurement and inventory management.
- Enhance distribution methodologies across multi-facility environments for cost-effective operations.
- Provide leadership and support in navigating purchasing systems and related programs.
- Ensure compliance with procurement standards and drive system standardization.
- Occasional travel to other sites to oversee operations and ensure consistency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage centralized material management systems, including purchasing, inventory management, and costing functions.
- Oversee procurement processes for medical, surgical, and other supplies, including capital procurements.
- Identify process deficiencies and implement improvements for operational efficiency.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure cost-efficiency and timely delivery of services.
- Collaborate with facility administrators to develop effective distribution methodologies.
- Provide training and support for purchasing systems and related programs.
- Standardize distribution systems across multi-facility environments to optimize operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by corporate officers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a relevant field.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing and sourcing within a healthcare setting.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
- Strong understanding of equipment components and surgical supplies/commodities.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including spreadsheets and database management.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proven ability to form collaborative team relationships with diverse stakeholders.
