Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax engagements for professional services clients and high-net-worth individuals, ensuring compliance and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver exceptional client service and innovative tax solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Engage in tax research and technical memoranda preparation on complex issues.
  • Manage multi-entity and multi-state taxation matters with expertise and precision.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing tailored tax planning and advisory services.
  • Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for various entities and individuals.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and strategic planning initiatives for clients.
  • Manage engagement budgets, billing, and client expectations effectively.
  • Coordinate with external professionals to ensure comprehensive client service.
  • Promote technical development and knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare technical memoranda on complex issues.
  • Mentor and coach staff, reviewing their work and fostering professional growth.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation preferred.
  • Active CPA license or EA certification required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
  • Strong technical knowledge in individual, partnership, S-corporation, trusts, and gift taxation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and tax research platforms like CCH, BNA, and RIA.
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-state taxation issues.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with executive presence.
