Job Description

Overview

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely submission of payroll-related files.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams for seamless payroll integration and reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly.
  • Generate accurate reports and payment requests for various agencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information with integrity.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts as necessary.
  • Assist with payroll audits and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Support finance operations by coding invoices and distributing daily mail.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure accuracy in payroll processing and timely creation of direct deposit files.
  • Transmit payroll tax deposit files for federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Issue replacement checks or direct deposits as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure payroll compliance and integration.
  • Generate detailed payroll reports and payment requests for external agencies.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts accurately.
  • Assist in payroll audits and maintain adherence to established procedures.
  • Handle finance mail distribution and coding of invoices for accounts payable.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in UKG/UltiPro payroll systems and IBM Cognos BI reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Familiarity with payroll audits and compliance requirements is advantageous.
