Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring precision and adherence to protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments, including instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and provide immediate responses to changes during surgery.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Document patient information accurately, ensuring comprehensive records of care.
  • Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and postoperative care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize surgical workflows and patient experiences.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent required; RN licensure mandatory.
  • Completion of RN First Assistant program with certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as RNFA; 3 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in perioperative nursing and surgical assisting across diverse patient demographics.
  • Physical capability to assist in patient positioning and surgical equipment handling.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within healthcare teams.
  • CNOR certification or active enrollment in CNOR program preferred.
