Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax planning and compliance initiatives for clients in the consumer products industry.
  • Provide strategic advisory services on tax implications of business transactions and restructuring.
  • Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Address complex tax issues including inventory accounting and multi-state filings.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize positions.
  • Stay updated on tax law changes and communicate impacts to clients and teams.
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand client relationships.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Strategically advise clients on innovative tax planning and compliance solutions.
  • Manage preparation and review of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
  • Address complex tax issues including sales and use tax and state nexus.
  • Develop tax strategies to optimize client positions and minimize liabilities.
  • Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Stay informed on tax law changes and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Mentor tax professionals, promoting skill development and collaboration.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to expand client relationships.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax advisory services; 15 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in tax planning, compliance, and addressing complex tax issues.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Experience mentoring and developing tax professionals at various levels.
  • Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills in a hybrid work environment.
  • Director-level experience in tax advisory or similar roles preferred.
