Overview
- Lead tax planning and compliance initiatives for clients in the consumer products industry.
- Provide strategic advisory services on tax implications of business transactions and restructuring.
- Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Address complex tax issues including inventory accounting and multi-state filings.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize positions.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and communicate impacts to clients and teams.
- Mentor and develop tax professionals, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand client relationships.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Strategically advise clients on innovative tax planning and compliance solutions.
- Manage preparation and review of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Address complex tax issues including sales and use tax and state nexus.
- Develop tax strategies to optimize client positions and minimize liabilities.
- Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
- Stay informed on tax law changes and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Mentor tax professionals, promoting skill development and collaboration.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to expand client relationships.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax advisory services; 15 years preferred.
- Proven expertise in tax planning, compliance, and addressing complex tax issues.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Experience mentoring and developing tax professionals at various levels.
- Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills in a hybrid work environment.
- Director-level experience in tax advisory or similar roles preferred.
