Job Description

Overview

  • Manage the full benefits lifecycle, including 401(k), medical, dental, disability, and ancillary plans.
  • Administer open enrollment processes and coordinate with multiple insurance providers.
  • Oversee employee leaves, including medical, disability, and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Accounting teams to ensure data integrity.
  • Support HR operations during onboarding, including new hire setup and orientation.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding benefits plans, PTO, and sick days.
  • Act as a liaison for employees with benefits-related queries, maintaining patience and empathy.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, and regulatory standards in union and non-union environments.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer changes to 401(k) plans and oversee maternity and paternity leave processes.
  • Explain benefits plans to employees with clarity and empathy.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure seamless benefits operations.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to address employee concerns regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Handle open enrollment processes and ensure timely communication to employees.
  • Support HR operations during onboarding, ensuring new hires are set up efficiently.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards in benefits administration.
  • Provide approachable and authoritative support for employees regarding HR concerns.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience with a focus on benefits and payroll oversight.
  • Experience in union and non-union environments is required.
  • Familiarity with construction or similar industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and compliance in regulated environments.
  • Approachable demeanor with the ability to explain benefits plans patiently.
  • Empathy and thick skin to handle employee concerns effectively.
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment.
