Overview
- Provide clinical supervision and professional nursing care to patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Coordinate and manage daily operations, including scheduling and team huddles, ensuring efficiency and quality care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and point-of-care tests, maintaining compliance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care and enhance satisfaction.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, infection control policies, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Participate in staff training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Utilize electronic health records for documentation and review patient charts for completeness.
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and prepare equipment for patient examinations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants, delegating tasks and ensuring completion.
- Manage scheduling, Paid Time Off requests, and daily team operations.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, documenting progress in electronic health records.
- Conduct patient assessments, verify complaints, and take vital signs as requested.
- Coordinate care interventions, considering age-specific needs and physical development.
- Prepare materials for team huddles and manage deliverables effectively.
- Support infection control practices and maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in applicant screening, training, and performance evaluations for care team staff.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, infection control, and patient confidentiality practices.
- Proficiency in electronic health record documentation and medical chart reporting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Pediatric experience is mandatory for this role.
