Job Description

Overview

  • Manage financial operations for diverse property portfolios, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and delivering accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to streamline financial processes and ensure timely reporting.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established controls.
  • Support the development and tracking of annual property budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and standards during audits and reviews.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Monitor cash flows, coordinate funding requests, and manage intercompany transactions effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze monthly financial statements from property managers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate monthly close processes and deliverables with external management teams.
  • Process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wires, ensuring timely disbursement.
  • Validate rent rolls, occupancy reports, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages for stakeholders and lenders.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Track budget performance and analyze variances to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with annual reporting requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of property accounting experience; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager for accounts payable and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and property-level accounting principles.
  • Experience in reviewing financial statements and resolving discrepancies.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and ownership structures is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
