Overview
- Manage financial operations for diverse property portfolios, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and delivering accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with property management teams to streamline financial processes and ensure timely reporting.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established controls.
- Support the development and tracking of annual property budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and standards during audits and reviews.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Monitor cash flows, coordinate funding requests, and manage intercompany transactions effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze monthly financial statements from property managers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Coordinate monthly close processes and deliverables with external management teams.
- Process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wires, ensuring timely disbursement.
- Validate rent rolls, occupancy reports, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages for stakeholders and lenders.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Track budget performance and analyze variances to identify trends and opportunities.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with annual reporting requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of property accounting experience; 7 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager for accounts payable and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and property-level accounting principles.
- Experience in reviewing financial statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and ownership structures is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
