Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax reporting and compliance for a global organization, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax filings, collaborating with internal teams and external providers.
  • Oversee global tax provision calculations under ASC 740, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic guidance on tax implications of business transactions and legislative changes.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Drive process improvements and automation in tax provision and compliance workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Support corporate budgeting through accurate forecasts of tax expenses and effective tax rates.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and local corporate and partnership tax returns.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex corporate and partnership tax issues.
  • Direct federal, state, and local tax audits, liaising with auditors and consultants.
  • Monitor and advise on compliance impacts of new tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage quarterly and year-end tax provision processes for accurate financial disclosures.
  • Lead initiatives to automate and optimize global tax provision workflows.
  • Provide tax guidance on business acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations.
  • Identify and implement domestic planning projects to optimize tax rates and cash flow.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA certification required.
  • 10–15 years of tax experience, including roles in accounting firms and multinational corporations.
  • Proficiency in global tax provisions under ASC 740 and related software like HFM and SAP.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on results and process improvement.
  • Experience in industries with similar dynamics; music industry experience preferred.
  • MBA or CFA preferred for advanced strategic and financial insights.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
