Job Description
Overview
- Support the Bankruptcy Group by assisting attorneys with bankruptcy proceedings and occasional litigation tasks.
- Prepare, organize, and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related court documents.
- Monitor case deadlines, court filings, and docket activity to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, creditors, trustees, and other parties as directed.
- Conduct legal research and draft correspondence and memoranda as needed.
- Provide support on litigation matters on an as-needed basis.
- Maintain organized case files and assist with document management.
- Work primarily on-site for four days a week, with flexibility as required.
- Contribute to a collaborative and professional legal team environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings, including document preparation and filing.
- Monitor and manage case deadlines, court filings, and docket activity.
- Coordinate communications with clients, creditors, trustees, and other involved parties.
- Conduct legal research and draft correspondence and memoranda as required.
- Provide litigation support as needed, ensuring thorough preparation and organization.
- Maintain organized case files and assist with document management systems.
- Collaborate with attorneys to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
- Adapt to a hybrid work schedule with flexibility for on-site presence.
- Contribute to the success of the legal team through proactive support and attention to detail.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on bankruptcy.
- Strong familiarity with bankruptcy court procedures, rules, and filing requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work on-site as required by attorney needs.
- Eligible for overtime pay and discretionary bonus.
