Overview
- Direct and oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance and driving strategic initiatives for organizational growth and efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape financial strategies and deliver actionable insights for decision-making.
- Manage accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory management.
- Develop financial models to support scenario planning, cost optimization, and strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration within the finance team, mentoring and developing team members.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Support board reporting and investor communications with detailed financial insights and analysis.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
- Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting workflows.
- Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational goals.
- Develop and implement financial models for cash flow analysis and cost optimization strategies.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls and risk management protocols.
- Coordinate external audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and manage a team of accountants and analysts, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including supervisory roles.
- Preferred 7 years of experience in accounting roles, ideally within the wholesale or related industries.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks is preferred.
- CPA certification is a plus, demonstrating advanced accounting expertise and knowledge.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Experience with financial systems evaluation and implementation is advantageous.
