Job Description

Overview

  • Lead comprehensive tax operations for a dynamic organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to manage complex tax engagements and strategic initiatives effectively.
  • Oversee tax filings for partnerships, trusts, LLCs, and high-net-worth individuals with precision and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain tax calendars to ensure timely submissions and adherence to deadlines.
  • Enhance tax tracking systems and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide support during audits, handling correspondence with tax authorities professionally.
  • Contribute to process improvements and strategic tax planning under the guidance of leadership.
  • Report directly to senior management, supporting compliance goals and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage tax compliance processes for partnerships, trusts, LLCs, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Coordinate preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Track K-1 forms, calculate estimated taxes, and oversee extensions and informational filings.
  • Handle tax notices and correspondence with authorities, providing audit support as needed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external CPA firms and advisors for tax engagements.
  • Maintain and update tax calendars to ensure compliance with all deadlines.
  • Implement process improvements and enhance tax tracking systems for better efficiency.
  • Assist in strategic tax planning and compliance initiatives to support organizational goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax management, preferably in private client services.
  • Proficiency in partnership, individual, and trust taxation processes.
  • Experience coordinating with external accounting firms on complex tax engagements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing tax compliance.
  • CPA and/or MST certification is highly preferred for this role.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
