Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for hospice staff, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate staff competencies and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify educational needs and implement targeted solutions.
  • Support staff in obtaining certifications and advancing their professional qualifications.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to align training objectives with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and standards in all training activities.
  • Utilize evidence-based methodologies to enhance training effectiveness and patient care outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide new staff to build confidence and proficiency in hospice practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in hospice care; 6 years preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in New York State required.
  • CHPN certification preferred; willingness to obtain within the first year.
  • Proven experience in clinical education, mentoring, or preceptorship roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and support staff.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other locations for training purposes.
