Job Description

Overview

  • Support the Royalty department's operations, focusing on Artist and Mechanical royalties across multiple labels.
  • Interpret recording agreements and ensure accurate royalty statement reporting.
  • Collaborate with Business Affairs, Legal, and A&R Administration on contract disputes.
  • Respond to artist and representative inquiries professionally and accurately.
  • Handle suspense accruals and pending calculations efficiently.
  • Reconcile third-party liability account balances, including samples and overrides.
  • Support ad hoc projects and analyses as needed by the team.
  • Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment with opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze and document royalty terms and product/track links to recording agreements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely royalty statements in compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Clear suspense accruals and reconcile pending calculations effectively.
  • Draft formal responses for disputed contractual language.
  • Respond to artist and representative inquiries with professionalism.
  • Reconcile third-party liability account balances, including samples and overrides.
  • Collaborate with various teams on royalty-related projects and analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in royalty accounting or financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience analyzing data from multiple corporate systems.
  • Familiarity with royalty systems and music industry contracts preferred.
