Overview
- Support the Royalty department's operations, focusing on Artist and Mechanical royalties across multiple labels.
- Interpret recording agreements and ensure accurate royalty statement reporting.
- Collaborate with Business Affairs, Legal, and A&R Administration on contract disputes.
- Respond to artist and representative inquiries professionally and accurately.
- Handle suspense accruals and pending calculations efficiently.
- Reconcile third-party liability account balances, including samples and overrides.
- Support ad hoc projects and analyses as needed by the team.
- Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment with opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze and document royalty terms and product/track links to recording agreements.
- Prepare accurate and timely royalty statements in compliance with contractual obligations.
- Clear suspense accruals and reconcile pending calculations effectively.
- Draft formal responses for disputed contractual language.
- Respond to artist and representative inquiries with professionalism.
- Reconcile third-party liability account balances, including samples and overrides.
- Collaborate with various teams on royalty-related projects and analyses.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in royalty accounting or financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Experience analyzing data from multiple corporate systems.
- Familiarity with royalty systems and music industry contracts preferred.
