Job Description

Overview

  • Provide physical therapy services to children in an educational setting, following a school calendar schedule.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement therapy intervention plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Conduct screenings and evaluations to gather data for treatment planning and intervention strategies.
  • Document therapy services and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants and students, ensuring quality service delivery.
  • Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas to ensure a safe and effective environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and organizational policies in all aspects of service provision.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy intervention plans for children in a school setting.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine therapy needs and progress.
  • Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support student development.
  • Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records for compliance and reporting.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to physical therapy assistants and students.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid New York State Physical Therapy license meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Experience or training in pediatric physical therapy is preferred.
  • Strong ability to develop and implement therapy plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Proficiency in documentation and compliance with ethical standards.
  • Effective collaboration skills with educators and other professionals.
