Job Description

Overview

  • Support accounting entries, profit/loss calculations, and exposure reporting for assigned commodities across trading divisions.
  • Collaborate with traders, logistics, and front office personnel to develop and grow business opportunities.
  • Analyze profit and loss movements, documenting market impacts and trading strategies.
  • Execute product control functions in compliance with established control processes.
  • Contribute to system development projects ensuring accurate reporting requirements.
  • Maintain monthly accounting accuracy and liaise with various offices for assigned products.
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly and annual reporting for assigned commodities.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform month-end closing processes and general ledger account analysis.
  • Reconcile physical inventory and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Develop frameworks and procedures to improve product control functions.
  • Communicate complex financial issues effectively to stakeholders.
  • Understand and summarize periodic profit and loss movements.
  • Collaborate with trading desks and IS teams on system development projects.
  • Manage conflicting priorities and ensure effective resolution.
  • Analyze market changes and their impact on financial outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or related roles; 3 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in intermediate Excel skills and journal entry posting.
  • Understanding of derivatives and their financial implications.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market impacts on profit and loss.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with trading software implementation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
