Overview

  • Lead the development and management of outpatient oncology pharmacy services, ensuring exceptional patient care and medication safety in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement innovative pharmacy programs that enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee comprehensive pharmacy operations, including clinical services, drug acquisition, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to expand oncology pharmacy services, optimizing resource utilization and patient satisfaction.
  • Mentor and lead a team of pharmacists and technicians, fostering professional growth and a culture of excellence.
  • Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Engage with corporate pharmacy teams to streamline processes and improve drug utilization strategies.
  • Contribute to organizational goals through active participation in committees and strategic planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the oncology pharmacy, ensuring seamless delivery of clinical and operational services.
  • Implement and oversee advanced clinical pharmacy programs to promote medication safety and therapeutic efficacy.
  • Supervise and develop pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to support the development and enhancement of oncology pharmacy services.
  • Optimize drug acquisition and utilization processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with 340B programs.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity of pharmacy information systems.
  • Participate in organizational committees to align pharmacy operations with broader healthcare objectives.
  • Maintain a commitment to standardized work processes and exceptional customer service standards.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is required for this role.
  • A minimum of 6 years of pharmacy experience is required; 8 years is preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in pharmacy operations, particularly in oncology, is highly desirable.
  • Active RPH license in the state of employment is mandatory.
  • Experience with Epic Beacon and 340B programs is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in outpatient oncology pharmacy operations and drug acquisition processes.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills for effective multidisciplinary team interactions.
  • Proven ability to lead and adapt in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment.
