Job Description

Overview

  • Lead surgical services in a dynamic healthcare organization, ensuring operational excellence and patient safety.
  • Oversee a high-performing team of 114 FTEs, managing 9,000 annual surgical cases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff including surgeons, nurses, and technicians.
  • Direct operations across multiple units including OR, PACU, and CSPD.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into clinical protocols and operations.
  • Foster professional growth and a culture of psychological safety within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize departmental budgets.
  • Contribute to the mission of enhancing community health through exceptional surgical care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage staff relations, including performance management, recruitment, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll, and staff development initiatives.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and justify equipment and supply needs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain vendor relations.
  • Lead operational activities across surgical units and specialty areas.
  • Promote evidence-based practices and integrate them into clinical operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in surgical services; 6 years preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in a director-level role within healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative operations and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and budget management.
  • Ability to foster a culture of safety and professional development.
