Job Description

Overview

  • Lead compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local banking regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and programs aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement strategies for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Provide training resources to enhance staff understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Oversee internal audits and regulatory examinations, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Support operational and lending compliance efforts across the organization.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking laws and regulations to inform compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the Compliance Department to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and policies.
  • Implement and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory audits and examinations, addressing identified deficiencies.
  • Communicate regulatory updates and implications to staff and senior management.
  • Provide training resources to enforce compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to compliance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with personnel policies and procedures within the department.
  • Support cross-functional areas within the organization as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, with 15 years preferred.
  • Executive-level experience in managing compliance programs and teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of banking regulations and compliance program elements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills for regulatory documents and legal texts.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage audits and examinations with attention to detail and accuracy.
