Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage nursing services within the operating room department, ensuring compliance with healthcare policies and standards.
  • Oversee the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in surgical settings.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and administrators to implement effective nursing strategies and practices.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, ensuring adherence to evidence-based nursing care standards.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, analyzing productivity and forecasting financial needs.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and team dynamics.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies, addressing ethical and legal considerations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise nursing staff within the operating room, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to standards.
  • Implement and monitor programs for safe and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Analyze and address staff training needs, promoting professional development opportunities.
  • Manage departmental budgets, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Facilitate communication between nursing teams and other healthcare departments.
  • Resolve conflicts and ensure equitable resource allocation within the department.
  • Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Promote patient satisfaction by implementing strategies to address feedback and concerns.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical patient care experience; 7 years preferred.
  • At least 2 years of healthcare leadership experience in a relevant setting.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of employment.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and analyze financial data effectively.
