Job Description

Overview

  • Provide administrative support to ensure accurate billing and payer reimbursements.
  • Prepare reconsiderations, process rejections, and review payments from payers.
  • Handle billing error corrections, refunds, and itemized bills for patients and attorneys.
  • Interact with third-party payers to verify reimbursement benefits and claim status.
  • Perform special department and physician projects as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and medical providers to resolve billing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines and maintain attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools to manage billing processes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Accurately process billing and payer reimbursements to ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare and submit reconsiderations for payers and address rejections effectively.
  • Review and analyze payer payments for discrepancies and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; medical billing program graduation preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of medical billing experience in a physician's office.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers.
