Interior Designer Overview

  • The Interior Designer will lead design projects, ensuring creative and functional solutions align with client needs and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop concepts, presentations, and detailed designs for interior spaces.
  • Manage design processes, including schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
  • Ensure adherence to budgets, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Utilize advanced design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite for project execution.
  • Engage with clients to understand their vision, provide updates, and deliver tailored design solutions.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Interior Designer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and refine design concepts based on client feedback and project criteria.
  • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for interior spaces.
  • Prepare detailed construction documentation, including plans, elevations, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals.
  • Utilize software tools like Revit, Bluebeam, and Enscape for modeling and rendering tasks.

Interior Designer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent degree in Interior Design.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in interior design; 15 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite; Revit experience is essential.
  • NCIDQ certification or progress towards certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, construction documentation, and project design phases.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for client and team interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
