Physician Overview
- The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment and preventive care.
- Deliver care for acute and chronic medical conditions, emphasizing patient-centered approaches and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and promote health equity.
- Engage in health promotion activities and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate documentation and billing.
- Participate in continuing medical education and maintain updated certifications and licensure.
- Provide culturally competent care to diverse populations, including recent immigrants and LGBTQI individuals.
- Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA and mandated reporting requirements.
Physician Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions for adult patients.
- Order and analyze diagnostic tests to inform clinical decisions using evidence-based principles.
- Prescribe treatments and medications within the scope of licensure and evidence-based guidelines.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, including observations and treatment plans.
- Participate in pre-visit planning and collaborate with care team members.
- Engage in clinic meetings and contribute to quality improvement projects and peer reviews.
- Provide on-call support during nights and weekends as part of a shared rotation.
- Comply with all legal and professional standards for medical practice.
Physician Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board eligibility or certification.
- Completion of accredited residency in internal or family medicine.
- Valid New York State medical license and current DEA certificate.
- Updated BLS and infection control certifications.
- Experience in primary HIV care and LGBTQI health is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Spanish or a Southeast Asian language is preferred.
- Strong commitment to providing culturally competent care to diverse populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
