Registered Nurse Manager Psych Unit Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage daily operations of the Behavioral Health Nursing Department, ensuring optimal resource utilization and patient care quality.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including House Supervisors and Charge Nurses, fostering professional growth and teamwork.
• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and address complex healthcare needs.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.

Registered Nurse Manager Psych Unit Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate of Science (AS) considered with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nursing Manager, Supervisor, or Clinical Team Lead in a Behavioral Health Unit within acute care.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and support the nursing team.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to work on-site in a dynamic and fast-paced acute care environment.
• Preferred 3 years of experience in behavioral health nursing within acute care settings.
