- The Commercial Estimator will lead project estimation processes, ensuring accurate and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.

Commercial Estimator Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Read and outline project specifications to establish accurate bid strategies.
- Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing using SmartBid and other tools.
- Develop and review work scopes for subcontractors to ensure project alignment.
- Conduct pre-bid meetings and assist operations staff with project logistics.
- Prepare bid summaries and spreadsheets for comprehensive project evaluation.
- Price self-performed and subcontracted work on a unit-priced basis.
- Monitor subcontractor coverage and solicit new subcontractors for bids.
- Review estimates for accuracy, constructability, and potential risks.
- Assist the estimating department to foster teamwork and project success.
Commercial Estimator Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction.
- Proficiency in Timberline, OST, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with projects exceeding $5 million in value is essential.
- Ability to lead estimates and manage bids for public and private projects.
- Experience with self-performance of concrete and carpentry is highly desired.
- Strong strategic and innovative skills for subcontractor coverage in new areas.
- Willingness to work on-site at active construction projects as required.
