Operating Room Nurse Manager Surgical Services Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement nursing policies, protocols, and clinical guidelines.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise registered nurses and surgical technologists.
  • Oversee patient care, safety, and satisfaction throughout the surgical continuum.
  • Manage nursing operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia staff to optimize workflows.

Operating Room Nurse Manager Surgical Services Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Healthcare Administration required.
  • Active RN licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the relevant state.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Nurse Manager or Director in surgical services.
  • Proficiency in orthopedic operating room nursing is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ambulatory surgery center regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building experience.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and surgical scheduling systems.
  • Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) is preferred.
  • Experience with new facility openings or startup environments is a plus.
