Vice President Corporate Accounting Overview

  • Lead corporate accounting operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in financial processes.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance reporting workflows and implement impactful process improvements.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to align accounting practices with organizational goals.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and analyze interest income for accurate financial reporting.
  • Support audits by providing detailed documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and update policies to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to standards.
  • Analyze financial ratios and balances to support quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of internal and external reporting packages, including SEC filings.

Vice President Corporate Accounting Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee transaction processing and ensure accuracy in subledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Produce and analyze system-generated data reports for financial accuracy and insights.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly valuations and reporting workflows for organizational transparency.
  • Prepare comprehensive reporting packages for earnings releases and regulatory filings.
  • Manage accounts payable processes and maintain controls over expense accruals.
  • Drive impactful accounting projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Document securities interest income and perform consolidation analysis for accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support internal and external audits.

Vice President Corporate Accounting Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA certification required.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in mortgage loans or securities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Workday or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to drive change and improve processes within accounting functions.
