Medical Director Overview

  • The Medical Director oversees outpatient care for patients, focusing on HIV/AIDS treatment and LGBTQ+ community health.

Medical Director Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Diagnose and treat patients in an outpatient setting, focusing on HIV/AIDS care.
  • Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the clinic.
  • Ensure compliance with medical regulations and standards, maintaining patient safety and care quality.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to align clinic operations with organizational goals.
  • Participate in community outreach and health education initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic medical systems.
  • Lead efforts in clinical research and advancements in HIV/AIDS treatment.
  • Coordinate CME activities and ensure team members meet certification requirements.

Medical Director Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with active state-specific Medical Board license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably 7 years, in outpatient care.
  • Experience in treating HIV/AIDS patients and familiarity with LGBTQ+ community health.
  • Valid DEA and Furnishing license, along with current CPR/BLS certification.
  • AAHIVM Certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage APPs and clinic operations effectively.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and patient data management.
