Job Description

Project Engineer Overview

  • The Project Engineer will oversee automation integration, process improvements, and industrial engineering projects within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to manage diverse projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Utilize expertise in PLC programming, CAD design, and 3D modeling for equipment and layout optimization.
  • Contribute to plant layout improvements to enhance production flow and efficiency.
  • Engage in hands-on tasks, including sensor mounting, drilling, and assembly line modifications.
  • Develop RFQs, gather supplier quotes, and manage project schedules and presentations.
  • Support maintenance teams and address operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Project Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage automation integration projects, including PLC programming and sensor integration.
  • Conduct process studies and line balances to improve production throughput.
  • Design and modify equipment layouts using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Catia.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to gather quotes, schedule deliveries, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Perform hands-on tasks, including assembly line modifications and equipment installations.
  • Develop and present project plans and updates to stakeholders.
  • Support maintenance teams with technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout project execution.

Project Engineer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automation integration and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Keyence, Omron, Mitsubishi).
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia) and 3D modeling.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering principles and plant layout optimization.
  • Strong project management skills, including RFQ development and supplier coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred experience in the automotive industry.
