Project Engineer Overview
- The Project Engineer will oversee automation integration, process improvements, and industrial engineering projects within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to manage diverse projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize expertise in PLC programming, CAD design, and 3D modeling for equipment and layout optimization.
- Contribute to plant layout improvements to enhance production flow and efficiency.
- Engage in hands-on tasks, including sensor mounting, drilling, and assembly line modifications.
- Develop RFQs, gather supplier quotes, and manage project schedules and presentations.
- Support maintenance teams and address operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Project Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage automation integration projects, including PLC programming and sensor integration.
- Conduct process studies and line balances to improve production throughput.
- Design and modify equipment layouts using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Catia.
- Collaborate with suppliers to gather quotes, schedule deliveries, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Perform hands-on tasks, including assembly line modifications and equipment installations.
- Develop and present project plans and updates to stakeholders.
- Support maintenance teams with technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout project execution.
Project Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automation integration and process improvement.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Keyence, Omron, Mitsubishi).
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia) and 3D modeling.
- Knowledge of industrial engineering principles and plant layout optimization.
- Strong project management skills, including RFQ development and supplier coordination.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience in the automotive industry.
