Job Description

Legal Assistant Overview

  • The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support across corporate, regulatory, licensing, compliance, and litigation matters.
  • Maintain legal records, prepare documentation, and track deadlines to ensure efficient legal department operations.
  • Conduct basic legal research and support legal matter administration for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with vendors, government agencies, and external counsel to support compliance and licensing activities.
  • Ensure accurate and organized documentation using approved templates and processes.
  • Contribute to the legal team’s success by managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality in all legal matters.
  • Report directly to the General Counsel and support the department’s operational goals.

Legal Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct legal research and maintain compliance records for licensing and regulatory matters.
  • Prepare and review legal forms, correspondence, and agreements using established templates.
  • Track applications, renewals, and regulatory submissions to ensure timely compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to facilitate legal processes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized legal files, corporate records, and department databases.
  • Monitor legal deadlines and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support litigation and compliance activities by coordinating document collection and tracking.
  • Assist in preparing certifications and other legal documents as required.

Legal Assistant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in legal assistant or related roles; 2 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, and document management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Paralegal certification is preferred.
  • Professional collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
