• The Director of Concrete Operations will lead and expand the self-perform concrete division of the client.
• Oversee field operations, preconstruction planning, safety, scheduling, staffing, and equipment management.
• Develop high-performing teams and maintain strong client relationships across diverse construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable building codes.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop project execution strategies and drive operational excellence.
• Monitor productivity, labor performance, equipment utilization, and financial results across active projects.
• Promote professional development and mentor superintendents, project managers, foremen, and field personnel.
• Support recruiting, hiring, workforce planning, and succession development for the concrete division.

Director of Concrete Operations Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide strategic leadership for all self-performed concrete operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from preconstruction through final completion.
• Review schedules, manpower plans, production goals, and project budgets to ensure efficiency.
• Assist with estimating reviews, value engineering, constructability analysis, and risk management.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.
• Drive operational excellence and innovation within the concrete division.
• Support recruiting, hiring, and workforce planning for the concrete division.

Director of Concrete Operations Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial concrete construction.
• Extensive knowledge of structural concrete, foundations, slabs-on-grade, elevated decks, and cast-in-place construction.
• Proven ability to lead large field teams and develop future leaders.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost controls, and production planning.
• Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.
• Preferred experience in self-perform concrete operations, tilt-up or heavy structural concrete.
