Trust & Estates Paralegal Overview
- The Trust & Estates Paralegal will provide legal and administrative support to attorneys specializing in estate planning and trust management.
- Collaborate in a hybrid work environment with opportunities for remote flexibility on Fridays.
- Engage in client meetings to assist attorneys in document witnessing and legal proceedings.
- Contribute to a dynamic team in a fast-paced legal setting, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in tasks.
- Develop and maintain confidential legal files and administrative records with meticulous attention to detail.
- Provide transcription services for legal briefs, correspondence, and memoranda.
- Support attorneys with travel arrangements, scheduling, and reimbursements.
- Ensure timely processing of mail, bills, and court filings.
- Enhance organizational efficiency by proactively managing contacts and calendars.
Trust & Estates Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform legal assistant work, including drafting, transcribing, and filing legal documents.
- Attend client meetings to assist attorneys with document witnessing and legal procedures.
- Prepare and maintain daily work calendars, scheduling meetings, depositions, and court dates.
- Assist with travel arrangements and internal correspondence for attorneys and paralegals.
- Process and proof billing sheets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage confidential and administrative files with precision and discretion.
- Answer and manage telephone calls, transferring calls and taking messages as needed.
- Sort and deliver incoming mail, ensuring outgoing mail is processed efficiently.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to support group and office operations.
Trust & Estates Paralegal Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
- Three to five years of experience in legal assistance, preferably in estate planning or trust management.
- Proficiency in typing at a minimum speed of 70 words per minute.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with electronic court filing systems and legal document preparation.
- Knowledge of billing processes and administrative file management.
- Ability to manage schedules, calendars, and travel arrangements effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in using Outlook and Interaction for contact management.
