Investment Due Diligence Associate Overview

  • The Investment Due Diligence Associate will lead alternative asset investments, focusing on sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align investment strategies with client portfolio needs and constraints.
  • Analyze investment opportunities across private equity, private credit, tax credit funds, and other alternative asset classes.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes with internal committees and external managers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sourcing partners and stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging themes in alternative asset management.
  • Contribute to the development of reporting processes to benchmark investment performance.
  • Support a collaborative and inclusive work environment to drive innovation and results.

Investment Due Diligence Associate Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Source and evaluate alternative asset opportunities, ensuring alignment with client-specific investment goals.
  • Conduct manager due diligence and present recommendations to internal committees.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to finalize investment documentation.
  • Monitor and report on investment performance and external manager relationships.
  • Maintain and enhance processes for quantifying and benchmarking investment results.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and perform ad-hoc research projects.
  • Contribute to portfolio construction and monitoring strategies for alternative assets.
  • Support the timely delivery of investment results to meet client requirements.

Investment Due Diligence Associate Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, or related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in alternative asset management or related front-office roles.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and alternative asset fundamentals.
  • Experience in portfolio construction and monitoring within alternative asset classes.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and reporting on relationships with alternative managers.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and meet inflexible deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of insurance company frameworks and capital-efficient investment strategies is preferred.
