Quant Risk Project Manager Overview

  • The Quant Risk Project Manager will enhance risk frameworks, methodologies, and reporting systems for a leading investment advisory institution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies and solutions.
  • Engage in strategic decision-making to ensure portfolio resilience and optimize investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative risk frameworks and crisis playbooks for diverse investment portfolios.
  • Participate in industry benchmarking and research to maintain best practices in risk management.
  • Support the creation of documentation for enhanced risk frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, combining remote flexibility with on-site collaboration.

Quant Risk Project Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate with the Head of Risk Special Projects to refine risk methodologies and reporting systems.
  • Build prototypes and implement system enhancements to reflect portfolio changes and reporting requirements.
  • Develop crisis playbooks, defining triggers and critical decision-making processes across functions.
  • Create documentation for liquidity and counterparty risk frameworks, updating policies and procedures.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to align risk management practices with industry standards.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses, data visualization, and calculation of pro-forma risk metrics.
  • Collaborate with Investment, Treasury, Legal, and Operations teams to implement risk enhancements.
  • Ensure operational excellence through rigorous testing and daily diligence of systems and processes.

Quant Risk Project Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering with a quantitative focus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably in financial services or risk management.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with knowledge of probability and statistics.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills, capable of engaging with senior audiences.
  • Experience in financial risk management, including market, liquidity, and counterparty risk, is preferred.
  • FRM or PRMIA designation is a plus, showcasing expertise in risk management.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a hybrid work environment.
