Scientist, Process Sciences Overview
- The Scientist, Process Sciences will focus on developing and scaling oligonucleotide manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and transfer processes to manufacturing organizations.
- Perform laboratory-based experimental work to support drug substance development and process optimization.
- Author and review technical protocols, reports, and manufacturing documentation adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to strategic discussions and present progress at scientific meetings.
- Work in a fast-paced environment requiring strong operational execution and problem-solving skills.
- Utilize expertise in chemistry and chemical engineering to design practical manufacturing processes.
- Engage in hands-on process development and analytical methods for product characterization.
- Collaborate closely with QA, QC, and external manufacturing organizations for process transfer and optimization.
Scientist, Process Sciences Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct laboratory experiments to support oligonucleotide drug substance development and process optimization.
- Independently execute experiments and analyze results to improve manufacturing processes.
- Author and review technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and manufacturing guidelines.
- Collaborate with analytical development, QA, QC, and external organizations for process transfer and optimization.
- Apply chemistry and engineering principles to design scalable manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and procedural guidelines in all activities.
- Participate in strategic discussions and present findings at internal and external scientific forums.
- Utilize hazardous chemicals safely in laboratory experiments and process development.
- Support the characterization of small molecules and oligonucleotide APIs.
Scientist, Process Sciences Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemical engineering required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in oligonucleotide therapeutics process research and development preferred.
- Proficiency in designing and developing practical manufacturing processes for small molecules and oligonucleotides.
- Hands-on experience in process development and analytical methods for product characterization.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with HPLC and other standard analytical techniques required.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals.
