Job Description

Controls Technician Overview

  • As a Controls Technician, you will ensure the functionality and efficiency of electrical systems and equipment within the production environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, ensuring operational continuity.
  • Implement corrective measures and recommend improvements to enhance equipment performance and production efficiency.
  • Support investigations related to product quality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide progress reports and updates on project developments to management.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities and ensure adherence to 5S principles.
  • Perform cable building and support laser cell operations during production.
  • Work independently on routine tasks and contribute to achieving business plan goals.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and standards in all activities.

Controls Technician Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, ensuring minimal production downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective measures and efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities and support laser welding operations.
  • Build cables and ensure proper functionality of networked PLC systems.
  • Provide project updates and reports to management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Administer performance reviews and support investigations related to product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all activities.
  • Support 5S activities and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Travel as required to support operations and projects.

Controls Technician Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience; 5 years preferred in PLC programming or electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Siemens, Allen Bradley, B&R, Mitsubishi, and Keyence PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of laser welding and resistance welding techniques is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, including LOTO and ISO standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to work on-site and adhere to a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows CE and Linux OS, is preferred.
