Accounts Receivable Representative Overview

  • The Accounts Receivable Representative role focuses on managing customer accounts and ensuring timely payment collection.
  • This position is fully onsite and offers a temp-to-perm opportunity for qualified candidates.
  • Candidates will review aging reports and prioritize accounts to reduce delinquency and exposure.
  • The role involves proactive outreach to customers via phone and email to collect past due balances.
  • Team collaboration is essential, partnering with Sales, Billing, and Customer Service teams to resolve account issues.
  • Candidates will assist customers with payment solutions, including payment plans and portal usage.
  • Monitoring accounts for credit risk and recommending escalation actions is a key responsibility.
  • This role requires maintaining accurate documentation of collection activity within the AR system.
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts receivable is mandatory.

Accounts Receivable Representative Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review aging reports and prioritize accounts to minimize delinquency and financial exposure.
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts with proactive outreach for payment collection.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, including disputes and billing issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address account issues and facilitate payment resolutions.
  • Provide customers with necessary documentation, including statements and invoice copies.
  • Assist customers with enrollment in payment solutions and portal usage.
  • Monitor accounts for credit risk and recommend escalation actions as needed.
  • Document all collection activities clearly and accurately within the AR system.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and standards for accounts receivable activities.

Accounts Receivable Representative Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume portfolio effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on resolution and accuracy.
  • Organizational and documentation skills with accountability and follow-through.
