Project Architect Overview
- The Project Architect leads technical and design efforts, transforming concepts into coordinated, buildable documents while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design intent with construction execution, maintaining budget and schedule requirements.
- Provides technical mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Supports sustainable design initiatives, contributing to long-term community-focused projects.
- Leads BIM workflows and ensures adherence to building codes and industry standards.

Project Architect Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead architectural production from schematic design through construction administration phases.
- Translate design concepts into detailed construction documents ensuring constructability and compliance.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, vendors, and clients for seamless project integration.
- Perform technical reviews and quality control checks on drawing packages.
- Mentor architectural staff on documentation standards and technical best practices.
- Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support construction administration activities.
- Assist in on-site observation visits and punch list development as needed.
Project Architect Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Architectural license preferred; licensure in progress strongly encouraged.
- 6–10+ years of professional experience, including leadership of construction documentation.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM project delivery workflows.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, detailing standards, and construction methods.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams preferred.
- Familiarity with sustainable design strategies and high-performance building systems.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
