Senior Tanium Engineer Overview

  • The Senior Tanium Engineer role focuses on designing and implementing resiliency validation programs for Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and supporting infrastructure services.
  • Leverage Tanium to build endpoint visibility, compliance monitoring, health validation checks, dashboards, and reporting with automated remediation via Ansible.
  • Remote role with potential travel requirements to NYC during the initial phase; open to candidates across the US.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect monitoring solutions independently and drive automation initiatives.

Senior Tanium Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and implement Tanium-based resiliency validation frameworks, including custom sensors, packages, and dashboards.
  • Develop Tanium checks for Active Directory health, replication, and configuration drift monitoring.
  • Build DNS validation sensors for server health, resolution performance, and endpoint configuration compliance.
  • Implement DHCP monitoring for scope utilization, lease activity, and failover state assessments.
  • Conduct infrastructure dependency validation and identify resiliency risks and single points of failure.
  • Integrate Tanium findings with Ansible workflows for automated remediation processes.
  • Participate in disaster recovery validation and controlled failover testing exercises.
  • Support self-healing infrastructure initiatives and event-driven remediation processes.

Senior Tanium Engineer Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant field is required.
  • 5+ years of Tanium administration and engineering experience; 10+ years preferred.
  • Proficiency in developing custom Tanium sensors, packages, and actions.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server, and domain controller operations.
  • Experience integrating Tanium with automation platforms; Ansible expertise preferred.
  • Tanium Certified Professional or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and security compliance monitoring.
