Registered Nurse Overview

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants on the care team.
• Manage scheduling, PTO requests, and delegation of tasks within the care team.
• Ensure nursing practices align with local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Assist in applicant screening, training, and performance evaluations of staff.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, coordinating care with other team members.
• Prepare and manage materials for daily huddles and patient chart reviews.
• Conduct point-of-care tests and document results in the electronic health record.
• Maintain clinical supplies inventory and prepare equipment for patient examinations.
• Provide direct patient care, verifying complaints and taking vital signs.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
• Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of New York as a Registered Nurse required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings required.
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact within a team atmosphere.
• Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Skill in applying and modifying nursing principles to provide ongoing patient care.
• Preferred experience in managing care teams and coordinating patient care plans.
