Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants on the care team.
- Manage scheduling, PTO requests, and delegation of tasks within the care team.
- Ensure nursing practices align with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Assist in applicant screening, training, and performance evaluations of staff.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, coordinating care with other team members.
- Prepare and manage materials for daily huddles and patient chart reviews.
- Conduct point-of-care tests and document results in the electronic health record.
- Maintain clinical supplies inventory and prepare equipment for patient examinations.
- Provide direct patient care, verifying complaints and taking vital signs.
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
- Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of New York as a Registered Nurse required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings required.
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact within a team atmosphere.
- Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Skill in applying and modifying nursing principles to provide ongoing patient care.
- Preferred experience in managing care teams and coordinating patient care plans.
