  • The Administrative Director of Surgical Services oversees operations and staff for multiple surgical departments, ensuring excellence in patient care and clinical practice.
  • Lead strategic planning and implementation for surgical services, trauma programs, and GI departments, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with administration and physicians to identify opportunities and define service line directions.
  • Develop and sustain a supportive environment for clinical nursing practice and patient care excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory agencies, and organizational policies.
  • Promote education, research, and professional growth within the department.
  • Maintain effective business relationships to enhance departmental services and operations.
  • Oversee interdisciplinary performance improvement programs, ensuring consistent quality and service enhancement.

Administrative Director Surgical Services Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a surgical environment with 5 years of progressive management experience.
  • Current California and Nevada Registered Nurse licenses or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications; CNOR certification preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare procedures, and management principles.
  • Highly effective collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships across departments for consistent and supportive processes.
  • Experience with quality improvement plans and financial report analysis.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
