Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of primary and secondary disorders in an inpatient setting.
• Develop individualized treatment plans addressing emotional, social, cognitive, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, including primary care physicians and nurses, for integrated care.
• Monitor and adjust medication treatments based on patient progress and response.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during critical situations.
• Maintain accurate clinical records detailing treatment plans and medication administration.
• Participate in educational activities to stay updated on psychiatric advancements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and uphold professional standards of conduct.
• Lead and mentor mental health providers to foster a collaborative care environment.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Job Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification/eligibility in Psychiatry.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in psychiatric care, with 5 years preferred.
• Unrestricted medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current Federal DEA and Massachusetts state registration to prescribe controlled substances.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills for collaborative care delivery.
• Commitment to quality, patient-centered healthcare and professional development.
• Ability to lead and mentor nonphysician mental health providers effectively.
• Proficiency in crisis intervention and psychotherapeutic treatment methods.
