Project Engineer Overview

• The Project Engineer role focuses on designing, scoping, and delivering technology solutions for managed partners.
• Collaborate with sales, infrastructure, and service delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Translate business and technical requirements into practical, PCI-standard solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise in server, network, cloud, and security technologies.
• Support technical discovery and sales engineering processes for prospective and existing partners.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure successful transition to service delivery teams.
• Drive continuous improvement, technical standards adherence, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Work onsite in Yonkers, NY, with flexibility for scheduled project work and partner-site requirements.

Project Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct technical discovery to identify requirements and develop PCI-standard solutions.
• Prepare solution designs, scopes, labor estimates, and risk assessments for projects.
• Lead project implementation phases, including planning, testing, validation, and handoff.
• Configure and deploy server, network, cloud, and security technologies.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to resolve implementation issues.
• Maintain complete project documentation, diagrams, and implementation notes.
• Identify technical risks and obstacles early and drive resolution effectively.
• Support technical standards, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Project Engineer Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in systems engineering or professional services.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing server, network, cloud, and security solutions.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholder engagement.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or Azure are strongly preferred.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Experience in project engineering, technical discovery, and solution scoping.
• Leadership skills to mentor junior technicians and support cross-functional collaboration.
