Mental Health Clinician Overview

Mental Health Clinician Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services, including crisis intervention and concrete support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient evaluation and treatment plans.
  • Prepare detailed bio-psychosocial evaluations, mental status exams, and treatment plans.
  • Conduct short- and long-term therapy sessions with defined goals and objectives.

Mental Health Clinician Job Requirements

  • Master of Social Work degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Licensure in New York State as LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Psychologist is mandatory.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with experience in diverse populations preferred.
  • Willingness to supervise interns and attend required supervisory courses.
  • Experience in healthcare settings is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for patient care.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable and offers additional compensation.
