Job Description

Vice President, Tax Overview

  • The Vice President, Tax will lead the firm's global tax function, ensuring compliance and accuracy across all tax processes.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee tax filings and workpaper preparation for U.S. and international partnerships and corporations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and leverage technology.
  • Support transaction execution and alignment across accounting, legal, and investor relations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with global reporting requirements, including FATCA/CRS and other specialized filings.
  • Research technical tax positions and stay updated on tax developments impacting private funds and investment structures.
  • Contribute to scalable growth by enhancing tax processes and maintaining high standards of professionalism.

Vice President, Tax Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the firm's global tax function, overseeing processes for management company, funds, and SPVs.
  • Coordinate U.S. and international tax compliance requirements, including federal, state, local, and foreign filings.
  • Supervise external tax advisors and fund administrators to ensure accurate preparation of tax returns and reports.
  • Review and prepare specialized filings such as tax elections, FBAR, and entity formation documentation.
  • Oversee tax accruals and support financial statement preparation, ensuring accurate disclosures.
  • Conduct tax structuring, planning, and modeling for investment structures and financial instruments.
  • Enhance tax processes by leveraging technology and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain technical expertise and research tax positions to support special projects.

Vice President, Tax Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive tax experience, preferably with private credit and investment structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ECI tax considerations, loan origination, and Season-and-Sell structures is a plus.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and problem-solving abilities.
