Controller Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Redesign and automate manual accounting workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Implement AI-driven tools to modernize accounting operations and enhance productivity.
• Develop and deliver standardized financial reports for executive decision-making.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, setting clear standards and fostering professional growth.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and address technical accounting matters.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and external partners on budgeting, cash management, and audits.
• Document policies and procedures to establish a strong internal control environment.
• Support the organization’s growth by scaling accounting functions and systems effectively.

Controller Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• CPA certification or equivalent public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments with shifting priorities.
• Experience with modern ERP systems and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in GAAP compliance and technical accounting matters.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and accountability.
• Enthusiasm for adopting new technologies to enhance accounting workflows.
• Experience in consumer, beauty, retail, or e-commerce industries is a plus.
