Job Description

Credit Associate Overview

  • The Credit Associate will support the Credit team in underwriting and structuring asset-backed revolving credit facilities and corporate term debt.
  • Gain hands-on experience in private credit industry, working closely with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence and financial analysis to assess creditworthiness of borrowers and their assets.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memos and presentations for senior management and committees.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast cash flows and evaluate investment risks.
  • Collaborate with transaction management teams and back-office teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay updated on market conditions, industry trends, and legal developments impacting the portfolio.
  • Contribute to the formulation of risk mitigation strategies for loan agreements.

Credit Associate Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of prospective borrowers, analyzing financial statements and business models.
  • Develop detailed financial models to forecast cash flows and assess debt coverage.
  • Perform stress tests on financial models to identify risks and coverage gaps.
  • Assist in drafting key risk mitigating terms for loan agreements and covenants.
  • Prepare detailed credit memos and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on credit transactions.
  • Monitor market conditions and industry trends to inform credit strategies.

Credit Associate Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, structured credit, or related financial services roles.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, including building complex models.
  • Familiarity with credit agreements, loan covenants, and structured credit documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in private credit, financial markets, and credit risk.
