Level 3 Project Engineer Overview

• The Level 3 Project Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and supporting technology solutions for diverse clients.
• Work with a managed service provider to deliver advanced IT infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate on complex technical projects from planning through implementation stages.
• Utilize expertise in Microsoft Azure, systems infrastructure, and networking technologies.
• Engage directly with clients to understand requirements and recommend solutions.
• Provide hands-on engineering support and resolve advanced technical issues.
• Contribute to internal process development and automation initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation for client environments and completed projects.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for the engineering and support teams.

Level 3 Project Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Design, configure, and implement Microsoft Azure environments and cloud solutions.
• Support critical infrastructure and databases within Azure environments.
• Lead technical projects from planning through implementation and handoff stages.
• Deploy and troubleshoot servers, networks, and client systems.
• Resolve advanced Level 3 escalations and infrastructure issues.
• Work with networking technologies, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
• Support Microsoft environments, including Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Assist with automation of processes and ticketing systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for client projects and environments.

Level 3 Project Engineer Job Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT infrastructure design and implementation.
• Preferred 8 years of experience in a consulting or managed services environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure and cloud solutions.
• Proficiency in networking technologies, including DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Ability to independently manage technical projects and escalations.
• Knowledge of scripting, automation, or ticketing system automation is advantageous.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications are a plus.
