Speech-Language Pathologist Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct assessments to determine students' speech-language therapy needs as outlined in their IEPs.
• Provide high-quality speech therapy services tailored to individual student requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues during team meetings to develop effective intervention strategies.
• Deliver parent training sessions to support therapy goals and foster communication.
• Participate in professional development activities and in-service training sessions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports.
• Engage in regular meetings with supervisors to review therapy outcomes and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all organizational and regulatory standards in therapy provision.

Speech-Language Pathologist Job Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent educational background.
• New York State Certificate as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or equivalent certification.
• Professional License as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a related field, with preference for additional experience.
• Strong ability to assess, plan, and implement effective therapy interventions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and engagement with parents.
